COINING Milestones

COINING began as a small-scale privately-owned company and is now an international presence and the largest Solder Preform manufacturer in the world.

1965
COINING is a privately owned company located in Saddle Brook, NJ.
Early 2000
COINING is sold to Main Street Capital investment firm. A few years later, Main Street Capital is sold to another investment firm, River Associates.
2009
COINING purchased SPM through River Associates. COINING completed the acquisition of SEMX Corporation, parent of SPM in Armonk, NY. SPM’s aluminum, copper, and gold bonding wire, and tape and reel packaging capability were a great addition to COINING’s portfolio.
2010
The combined businesses commenced full operations at the new domestic manufacturing facility and headquarters at 15 Mercedes Drive in Montvale, New Jersey, USA. 
2011


2012 
 
After 46 years of private ownership, COINING is acquired by AMETEK, Inc in May 2011.
Our first Robotic Automation Packaging machine is installed.

2012 - First Robotic Automation Packaging machine


2016 

We receive our A2LA Laboratory Accreditation, and our second Robotic Automation Packaging machine is installed. 

2017
The first COINING Ceramic Cover Assembly (CCCA) is built.

2022

COINING develops Bio-Implantable Composite Mater
ials (BCMs) for implantable medical devices.
